Osaka University and its Faculty of Law have special offices to assist international students. The Support Office for International Students and Scholars gives you comprehensive assistance for your visa application process and finding accommodation. After starting your studies, the Center for International Education and Exchange (CIEE) provides you with the information needed for a fruitful and comfortable academic life here, including information on part-time jobs and scholarships. At the Center, you can also read newspapers in several languages and talk with the staff for advice and assistance. Though the Support Office and the CIEE are located in the Suita Campus, not the Toyonaka Campus, where you will have classes after joining the Faculty of Law, the two campuses are connected by a shuttle bus service and the CIEE has a branch office in the Toyonaka Campus.
International Consultation Room, where you can drop by for a chat and to relax. A counselor in the salon helps you solve everyday problems facing you on and off campus, make an appointment with professors for academic advice, and make friends with Japanese and international students. Additionally, a specific Japanese student will support you as a ‘tutor’. The tutors will be introduced to each international student by the Faculty, and they will be your first friend and help you make a good start at Osaka. Of course, there are many opportunities to make new friends and build fond memories on campus, such as the enjoyable annual party, which is one of the biggest Faculty events and held every December and attended by many students and professors.
